It is estimated that around 90,000 children in Orange County, California, or 10.8% of its children, currently live in poverty (U.S. Census Bureau). Birthday celebrations are often forfeited when resources are scarce. Food staples are essential and reputable local food banks do a good job providing these essentials to families in need. But, wouldn't it be great to bring a birthday surprise to kids in need?

Our do-it-yourself Birthday Cake Box includes everything you need to make a birthday cake, including essential baking tools. The cake can be made in an oven, toaster oven, or even a microwave. No need for perishable items like oil or eggs. The cake can be made using only the shelf-stable supplies in the box.
We have teamed up with local food banks delivering Bake a Wish birthday cake boxes to families seeking assistance due to financial difficulty and food scarcity. We hope that each child can celebrate their special day with a birthday cake.
Every month, Bake a Wish distributes over 30 do-it-yourself birthday cake boxes to our partners in Southern California.
